Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer Team (1-0) began their 2008 campaign with a victory, earning a 4-2 decision over FDU-Florham (0-5). Senior Elis Llagami (Franklin D. Roosevelt / Brooklyn, NY) led the Bridges, as he recorded a goal and an assist in the win.

The Bridges struck first, scoring in the game's 22nd minute when a cross from the left side off the leg of Llagami was booted into the net by freshman Alex Skopintsev (Moscow, Russia).  Less than four minutes later, the Devils answered as John Gaw put one past the keeper on a penalty kick.  BC wasted no time in ending the stalemate, as sophomore Ivan Klyauzov (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) converted on a penalty kick of his own to give the home team a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.

The two teams battled through much of the second half, until Llagami tallied a goal off a break-away from the center of the field in the game's 70th minute.  His strike was quickly followed by freshman Igor Kozlov (Elite High School / Amsterdam), who placed an unassisted shot into the right corner of the net for a 4-1 edge. Matt Kinsley put one into the net in the game's 79th minute to round our the scoring.

Brooklyn College will return to the field on Friday afternoon, as they take on Maritime College in a non-conference game.  The opening kick is set for 4:00 pm at Kingsborough Community College.
